Director Tonya Sheffield, a graduate of the University North Carolina School of the Arts and Winston Salem State University, has been a resident of Winston Salem, North Carolina for over 20 years. She has been involved in many facets of production, in filmmaking, television, afterschool programming, management, and radio broadcast. Sheffield has worked closely with major producers and directors on films, television series, and commercials. Ms. Sheffield is equipped with all the necessary physical and producing experience, her primary job title is a mother, which is where her passion for child development stems from. With tools and passion she will lead a team of faculty and interns in the presentation of our programs as well as the development of each and every individual child.
Steven L. Jones is a graduate of Virginia State University and has over 20 years experience as a producer in the film industry. He’s a retired professor, taught film producing for over 15 years at University of North Carolina School of the Arts School of Filmmaking. Originally, from New York where he co-founded an afterschool program for “at risk” youth, he has lived in North Carolina since the early 1990’s. He has produced a variety of music videos, commercials, documentaries and feature films, such as the critically acclaimed Daughters of the Dust, the Sci-fi thriller, Eyeborgs and Chicks 101.
Vernicé E. Grant is retired after working over 45 years in the areas of training, curriculum, documentation and after school program development. Managing to make the classes relevant, Ms. Grant established and maintained programs that developed national and international recognition. She also brings years of client training, "Train the Trainer," computer programming and document development. As an Associate Professor, she taught at both Hostos Community and York colleges."
